Dalam masalah ini telah datang dalil-dalil yang menunjukkan bahwa Islam sangat menganjurkan umatnya untuk mempunyai anak bahkan mempunyai anak banyak sebagai mana akan datang keterangannya di fasal ke tiga.
Diantara dalil-dalil tersebut ialah firman Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala.
وَابْتَغُوا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ
“… dan carilah apa yang telah ditetapkan Allah untuk kamu (yaitu anak)” [QS. Al-Baqarah/2 : 187]
Abu Hurairah, Ibnu Abbas dan Anas bin Malik dan lain-lain Imam dari kaum Tabi’in menafsirkan ayat di atas dengan anak (Tafsir Ibnu Jarir dan Tafsir Ibnu Katsir di dalam menafsirkan ayat di atas)
Maksudnya: Bahwa Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala memerintahkan kita untuk mencari anak dengan jalan bercampur (jima’) suami istri apa yang Allah telah tentukan untuk kamu.
Cukuplah ayat di atas sebagai dalil yang tegas dan terang bahwa Islam memerintahkan mempunyai anak dengan jalan nikah dan bercampur suami-istri.
Dan sekaligus merupakan larangan dan celaan terhadap mereka yang tidak mau mempunyai anak padahal ada jalan untuk memperolehnya dengan qadar Allah. Dan sabda Beliau Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam.
تَزَوَّجُوا الْوَدُوْدَ الْوَلُوْدَ فَإِنِّيْ مُكَاشِرٌ بِكُمُ الأُمَمَ
“Nikahilah perempuan yang pecinta (yakni yang mencintai suaminya) dan yang dapat mempunyai anak banyak, karena sesungguhnya aku akan berbangga dengan sebab (banyaknya) kamu di hadapan umat-umat (yang terdahulu)” [Shahih Riwayat Abu Dawud, Nasa’i, Ibnu Hibban dan Hakim dari jalan Ma’qil bin Yasar]

“Nikahilah perempuan yang penyayang dan dapat mempunyai anak banyak karena sesungguhnya aku akan berbangga dengan sebab banyaknya kamu dihadapan para Nabi nanti pada hari kiamat” [Shahih Riwayat Ahmad, Ibnu Hibban dan Sa’id bin Manshur dari jalan Anas bin Malik]
Kelengkapan takhrij dua hadits di atas terdapat di kitab besar kami Riyadlul Jannah (no. 172 dan 173).
Islam Menganjurkan Umatnya Untuk Mempunyai Banyak Anak
Diantara dalil-dalilnya ialah dua hadits yang telah lalu di fasal 1 dari hadits Ma’qil bin Yasar dan hadts Anas bin Malik kemudian hadits yang sangat terkenal di bawah ini yaitu do’a Nabi yang mulia Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam kepada Anas bin Malik.
اَللَّهُمَّ أَكْشِرْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ وَبَارِكْ لَهُ فِيْمَا أَعْطَيْتَهُ
“Ya Allah! Banyakanlah hartanya dan (banyakanlah) anaknya dan berkahilah apa yang engkau telah berikan kepadanya” [Hadits shahih riwayat Bukhari (7/152, 154, 161, 162 dan Muslim 2/128]
Dalam riwayat yang lain yang juga dikeluarkan oleh Imam Bukhari di kitabnya yang lain di luar kitab Shahih-nya yaitu di kitabnya Adabul Mufrad (no. 653), Nabi yang mulia Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam mendo’akannya.
اَللَّهُمَّ أَكْشِرْ مَالَهُ وَوَلَدَهُ وَأَ طِل حَيَاتَهُ وَا غْفِرْلَهُ
“Ya Allah ! Banyakanlah hartanya dan anaknya, dan panjangkanlah umurnya dan ampunkanlah ia” [Derajad hadits ini Hasan]
Dari hadits yang mulia ini kita mengetahui bahwa Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam mencintai umatnya mempunyai banyak anak.
Dengan demikian, maka Islam menganjurkan umatnya mempunyai banyak anak dengan maksud dan tujuan yang suci mengikuti ‘Syari’at Rabbul ‘Alamin di antaranya yang terpenting adalah memperbanyak umat Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam sebagaimana beliau tegaskan (lihat haditsnya di fasal pertama).
Keadaan yang demikian membuat orang-orang kuffar ketakutan dan cemas akan banyaknya kaum muslimin.
Akhirnya merekapun menakut-nakuti kaum muslimin dam membuat berbagai macam program dalam rangka membatasi kelahiran di negeri-negeri Islam yang pemimpinnya dan para pejabatnya jauh dari nur Islam.
Ambil misal, di negeri kita ini –negeri Islam- di masa orde baru rezim Soeharto mencekoki kaum muslimin dengan berbagai macam program KB (Keluarga Berencana) membatasi kelahiran.
“Cukup anak dua saja!”
“Laki-laki perempuan sama saja!?”
Inilah salah satu dari sekian banyak kebodohan Soeharto yang akibatnya dia rasakan sendiri rakyat hidup miskin akibat krisis moneter yang berkepanjangan.
Katanya KB itu menjanjikan hidup sejahtera dan sentosa dan lain-lain dari janji-janji muluk.
Apa kata orang-orang kuffar kepada kaum muslimin, “Kalau kami mempunyai banyak anak niscaya kamu akan jatuh miskin dan bangkrut karena akan kerepotan dalam mengurusnya dan banyak keluar biaya dan lain-lain kesusahan.
Lebih dari itu bumi akan sesak dan perbendaharaannya akan habis dan punah?
Dimana kita akan bertempat tinggal dan apa yang akan kita makan!?”
Kita jawab:
Pertama: Adapun tidak mau mempunyai anak karena miskin atau takut miskin dan yang berhubungan dengannya dari masalah-masalah pengurusan dan biaya telah kami jawab di fasal kedua.
Kedua: Adapun keyakinan tentang melonjaknya jumlah penduduk yang akan membuat bumi ini sesak dan habis perbendaharaannya adalah keyakinan yang batil dan sesat menyesatkan. Karena Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala telah berfirman.
وَلَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
“Dan bagi kamu di bumi tempat menetap dan rizki sampai waktu yang telah ditentukan (yakni hari kiamat)” [QS. Al-Baqarah/2 : 36]
هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا
“Dialah Allah yang menciptakan untuk kamu segala sesuatu di bumi ini semuanya” [QS. Al-Baqarah/2 : 29]
قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ
“Allah berfirman: Di bumi kamu hidup dan di bumi kamu mati dan dari bumi itu (juga) kamu akan dibangkitkan” [QS. Al-A’raaf/7 : 25]
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا ﴿٢٥﴾ أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَاتًا
“Bukankah Kami telah menjadikan bumi (tempat) berkumpul (yang cukup). Untuk orang-orang yang hidup dan orang-orang yang mati” [QS. Al-Mursalat/77 : 25-26]
Dari ayat-ayat di atas kita mengetahui
Pertama: Bahwa Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala telah menjadikan bumi tempat tinggal bagi manusia dan tempat yang cukup untuk mereka bagi yang hidup dan yang mati.
Kedua: Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala telah sediakan di bumi ini untuk manusia perbendaharaan yang cukup yang tidak akan punah dan habis.
Keutamaan Mempunyai Anak Banyak
عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَتُرْفَعُ دَرَجَتُهُ فِى الْجَنَّةِ فَيَقُوْلُ : أَنَّى (لِي) هَذَا؟ فَيَقُالُ : بِاسْتِغْفَارِ وَلَدِكَ
Dari Abu Hurairah, ia berkata : Telah bersabda Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam,
‘Sesungguhnya ada seseorang yang diangkat (ditinggikan) derajatnya di jannah (surga)”.
Lalu ia bertanya (terheran-heran), “Bagaimana aku bisa mendapat ini (yakni derajat yang tinggi di surga)?”.
Dikatakan kepadanya, “(Ini) disebabkan istighfar (permohonan ampun) dari anakmu (kepada Allah) untukmu”.
عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : إِذَا مَاتَ الاِنْسَانُ اِنْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ عَمَلُهُ إِلاَّ مَنْ شَلاَثَةِ : إِلاَّ مِنْ صَدَ قَةٍ جَارِيَةٍ أَوْ عِلْمٍ يُنْتَفَعُ بِهِ أَوْ وَلَدٍ صَالِحٍ يَدْعُوْلَهُ
“Dari Abu Hurairah : Sesungguhnya Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam telah bersabda,
“Apabila manusia itu telah mati maka terputuslah dari semua amalnya kecuali tiga perkara :
Shadaqah jariyah
Atau ilmu yang diambil manfaatnya
Anak shalih yang mendo’akannya” [Riwayat Muslim dan lain-lain]
Inilah puncak tertinggi dari keutamaan-keutamaan mempunyai anak, yaitu anak yang shalih yang bermanfaat bagi orang tua di dunia dan di akhirat.
Dari hadits ini pun kita mengetahui bahwa tujuan mulia dari mempunyai anak –menurut syari’at Islam- ialah menjadikan anak-anak tersebut menjadi anak-anak yang shalih, anak-anak yang taat kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya dan anak-anak yang berbuat baik kepada kedua orang tuanya (birrul walidain).
Bukan anak-anak yang durhaka apalagi yang kufur dan lain-lain yang dibenci oleh Allah dan Rasul-Nya.
Peran orang tua dalam hal ini sangat penting sekali dan menentukan. Perhatikanlah sabda Nabi Shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam di bawah ini.
عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : كُلُّ إِنْسَانِ تَلِدُهُ أُمُّهُ عَلَ الْفِطرَةِ وَاَبَوَاهُ بَعْدُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِ وَيُمَجِّسَانِهِ فَإِنْ كَانَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ فَمُسْلِمٌ
“Dari Abu Hurairah, Sesungguhnya Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam telah bersabda,
“Setiap manusia dilahirkan ibunya atas dasar fitrah. Dan kedua orang tuanyalah yang sesudah itu yang menjadikannya sebagai Yahudi dan Nashara dan Majusi. Maka apabila kedua orang tuanya muslim, maka jadilah dia anak muslim..” [Riwayat Muslim dan lain-lain]
